About Superior Con
Superior Con is a FREE pop culture convention hosted by an alliance of student organizations at Northern Michigan University! If you like video games, cosplay, cartoons, comics, anime, or any other form of pop-culture art, Superior Con is the place you want to be!

Superior Con ran for the first time in 2018, and was a great success! Our growth will be slow, but your organizers will strive every year to make Superior Con the best it can be. As of now, this event is headed by Northern Michigan University’s student organization, Cosplayers Unite. As long as the event is hosted on the campus of NMU, it will remain a free event. Our hopes are that one day, Superior Con will grow enough to move up to a larger venue.​
General Rules

Running, horseplay, or overly aggressive behavior will not be tolerated

State and federal laws still apply!

Alcohol, illegal drug use, and smoking are not permitted on NMU campus.

Attendees under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

This event is open to the public. Keep all activities PG-13.

No sleeping or loitering in busy areas. Keep exits and entryways clear.

Be respectful to all attendees and staff!
Cosplay Rules

Real weapons are NOT allowed. You may bring fake weapons, but they must be clearly fake.

NMU prohibits projectiles of ANY kind on campus (this includes firearms, nerf guns, bow and arrow, silly string, slingshots, etc.).

Harmful materials must not be a part of your cosplay (excessive amounts of metal, for example).

Make sure your cosplay is street legal, and that all appropriate body parts are covered.

COSPLAY ≠ CONSENT. You know the drill. Always ask before taking photos, hugging, “glomping”, etc. Be respectful to everyone.
If you do not comply with the above rules, you will be asked to leave the convention and NMU Campus.
